Montclair Athlete's Soccer Career Defies Logic

Yael Averbuch to play on N.W.S.L.

Yael Averbuch once played for the Montclair Kangaroos and the Montclair Mavericks youth teams.

Now the 27-year-old midfielder — who calls Montclair home during the off-season — is about to leave for team training in Los Angeles for her first season on the N.W.S.L.

Averbuch wrote in the New York Times Tuesday about how her trajectory into the world of professional women's soccer has defied logic.

Read "Soccer and Logic Don’t Often Mix."

The athlete is a 2005 graduate of Montclair High School.
