From Hawaii to Cape Cod: Oh, The Places Montclairites Will Go!

Montclairites talk about where they will vacation this summer.

Montclairites love variety when it comes to their shops, music, and restaurants. And, come to find out, they also love variety when it comes to their summer vacations.

Montclair Patch asked dozens of residents where they plan to go this summer—and no two answers were the same. Where are YOU going this summer? Email Shelley@patch.com or—better yet—let us know in the comments section below.

—Tamima Friedman will go to Cape Cod.

"Can we be the only family in Montclair who does not know Cape Cod? It seems this might be the case. So we are trying something new this year and spending a week in Provincetown. Looking forward to sun (we hope), sand, long walks on the beach—but all still close to galleries, shops, restaurants and other fun activities."

—Susan Worth will go to Hawaii with her mother and three daughters.

"We’ve been planning to go for the longest time. I’ve never been to Hawaii and so many people were telling me to go to this island or that place ... it was confusing. So I went to AAA to pick up some maps, and the travel agent there said, 'Well, you know there is a cruise for seven days that goes to all the islands...” So I told him to sign me up! We are all totally excited. I bought a camera that is waterproof so that we can take some photos of the fish when we are snorkeling."

—Mary Emanuelli will go to Costa Rica as her daughter will already be there on a Girl Scout program this summer.

"We will meet her at the end and spend another 10 days there."

—Melissa Bigelow will go to the Jersey Shore.

"Always the Jersey Shore! What's not to love?! And always, always, a couple trips to see the cousins."

—Martha Kolko gave a detailed account of what she plans to do this summer. And it all sounds fabulous.

"Flying to Scotland with my niece* Stay a few days in Edinburgh* Rent a car and drive south toward York (visit this ancient city)* Continue on to Mildenhall where my other niece lives* We stay with them for several days and visit Cambridge and the surrounding area* Then we drive toward Oxford, Salisbury, Stonehenge & Avebury (you can get appointments to touch the stones if you go before or after hours)* My son and I attended a druid wedding ceremony a few years back and I cannot wait to see what might be going on this time. Just touching  the stones is amazing* Drive to Poole (by the shore) and return our rental car. Spend the night and take a ferry the next day to Guernsey. (Just read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society so I am excited to see the channel islands.)* I'll stay a few days and then travel back home home by ferry, train, then plane."
