Happy 4th of July Montclair!

As Montclair residents take a mid-week break to celebrate July 4th, Patch offers the following guide packed full of all you need to know to mark the holiday.

FIREWORKS:

—The Montclair July 4th Fireworks display will take place at Yogi Berra Stadium on Montclair State University campus. Gates open at 7 p.m. Free parking will be available at the Carparc Diem deck, adjacent to Floyd Hall Arena. Overflow vehicles will be directed to other parking areas. (Please note: the Red Hawk Parking Deck will be closed.) For more information go here.

—The Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks are back for the 36th year in a row in New York City. This year's event features a performance by Katy Perry. For more information go here.

FANFARE:

—Montclair's begins at 11 a.m. and follows a 1.6-mile route which starts at the corner of Bloomfield Avenue and Church Street and travels west on Bloomfield Avenue to Midland Avenue, continuing to Watchung Avenue, west to Valley Road and ending at the official reviewing stand at Edgemont Park. In the event of rain, the parade will go on but the picnic in Edgemont Park will be canceled. Rain cancellation/postponement announcements will be posted on PATCH and also on the Montclair Township website and on TV34.

FOOD:

—Montclair's annual Township Fourth of July picnic will be held immediately following the parade at Edgemont Park on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature tasty treats from vendors including Church Street Catering and Applegate Farms as well as a wide variety of live music.
