YMCA of Montclair Now Enrolling for Summer Camp

Camps available for ages 3 to 15 to keep kids active during summer months.

For parents, extra support to keep kids healthy can go a long way.

According to the latest findings of the YMCA’s Family Health Snapshot, a survey that gauges kid’s activity levels during the school year, nearly 50 percent of U.S. parents say technological distractions such as television, cell phones or video games make it difficult for their kids to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

With more free time in summer, ensuring that kids practice healthy habits can be a greater challenge.

“The Y provides a variety of opportunities to help ensure that kids are learning and being physically active in the summer, a time of exploration,” said James Goodger, Director of Camping Services at the Y. “Campers also learn how to be responsible and resourceful, work in groups, solve problems and make decisions that will help them grow as individuals, all while having fun.”

Registration for the upcoming camp season is open now. To ensure that all kids have the chance to experience camp, the YMCA of Montclair offers financial assistance to those in need.
