What's happening in Montclair this week and what stories Patch plans to cover.

Tuesday is the 2013 General Election. Voters will go to the polls to choose between Republican Gov. Chris Christie who is seeking re-election and his Democratic challenger N.J. State Sen. Barbara Buono.

Polling places will be open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Don't know your polling place? Check the top of your sample ballot received in the mail or search the NJ Department of State website. If no match is found, contact the Montclair Township Clerk's office at 973-509-4900.

Battle of the Bands for Books will take place on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Hear eight local teen groups battle it out the night before Teacher's Convention at the Women's Club of Upper Montclair. All proceeds will benefit a library of an elementary school in Guatemala.

In anticipation of Super Bowl XLVIII coming to New Jersey, the Montclair 2014 Committee is bringing the Join the Huddle Tour to Montclair High School's George Inness Annex parking lot Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. Pose with the Vince Lombardi trophy, create your own touchdown dance and more.

Montclair Public Schools are closed on Thursday and Friday for the annual NJEA Teachers' Convention in Atlantic City.

Call a babysitter! Free First Thursday Nights continue at the Montclair Art Museum on Nov. 7. In addition to free admission, there will be free music, food samples, a full-service bar, a stuffed-potato truck, drop-in art workshops and more.
