Friday

Time For Clay (TFC) at Mud & Soul
4 p.m.
6 Audrey Place, Fairfield

What it is, is an open clay party for families. It’s an opportunity to come in to the studio after school on a Friday and complete a designated project. These family oriented workshops will include demonstration and guidance, all tools and materials needed, time for building, time for glazing and the necessary firing to complete all work. The first project in time for Halloween will be a carved ceramic lantern.

Lamp for Haiti Local Music Fundraiser
2 p.m.

$15 donation, $10 seniors and students

Montclair's The Porchistas, in coordination with Lamp for Haiti, are organizing a music fundraiser and dinner.

Guinness and Oyster Festival
4 p.m. until closing
Egan & Sons and Halcyon, 118 Walnut St., Montclair

They'll be setting up a tent in the back parking lot which will house a beer truck and a raw bar. Random Test will be performing a few sets in the tent.

Grape Expectations
6:30 p.m.
Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton Ave., Montclair

Eric Asimov, chief wine critic of The New York Times, will be the featured speaker and will hold a wine master class for a small audience for the first hour. Sharon Sevrens of Amanti Vino will choose wines for the event with Mr. Asimov for the food pairings provided by Culinariane Restaurant. For the main event beginning at 7:30, top local chefs will create delicious fare inspired by the works of Charles Dickens. 

Sunday

Doug Williams 1 Mile Run and 5K
8 a.m.
Montclair Art Museum, 3 South Mountain Ave., Montclair

Proceeds from the event go towards a Montclair State University scholarship in Doug's name. Doug was tragically killed by a hit & run driver 2 years ago.

Grocery Collection for Human Needs Food Pantry
10 a.m.
Kings, 650 Valley Road, Montclair

Montclair Rotary Club is joining with Prudential New Jersey Properties to collect non-perishable groceries at local Kings Supermarkets. Donations of food and funds will be given to the Montclair Human Needs Food Pantry.
