The Montclair Historical Society was founded in 1965. It consists of the Israel Crane House, the Nathaniel Crane House, the Evergreens and the Clarke House. It has regular educational events and exhibits throughout the year as well as a library that documents the history of New Jersey in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. School and group tours are arranged with the administrative offices.
