Governor Chris Christie joined dignitaries to open Sea Lion Sound Exhibit
Calling it the "best zoo in the state," Gov. Chris Christie officially opened the newest exhibit at the Turtle Back Zoo Tuesday, featuring the largest exhibit in the zoo's history. Joined by his daughter Bridget, Christie cut the ribbon on the new Sea Lion Sound Exhibit. The large crowd included zoo visitors, numerous county and state officials, as well as zoo employees and volunteers. This new, natural habitat-themed display is the largest exhibit developed in Turtle Back’s history, and features an 82,000-gallon pool for sea lions and a 1,600-gallon touch tank for sting rays, along with space for education programs and special events. Governor undecided on whether he'll support Senate bill that would outlaw the practice among minors.
Gov. Chris Christie said Wednesday he is not sure if he would sign a bill banning minors from so-called "gay conversion" therapy should it reach his desk, nj.com reports. The New Jersey Senate's Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee voted 7-1 Monday to advance a bill to the full Senate that would outlaw the controversial practice, which seeks to alter a patient's sexual orientation. OUTSIDE MANCHESTER, NH -- Hillary Clinton is the heavy favorite among New Hampshire Democrats for the 2016 New Hampshire Primary, while no one in the Republican field has yet to separate from the pack. Yes, it's still three years before the 2016 Primary, but a WMUR/University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll released Thursday night shows that Clinton is the prohibitive favorite among Granite State Democrats. Plans are being formulated at the state level for how to spend Hurricane Sandy relief aid, but the money hasn't come in yet.
The state is developing plans for how and where to best allocate Hurricane Sandy relief aid, writing proposals for putting together lists for its various relevant agencies, from Housing and Urban Development to the Department of Transportation. The money will come, Gov. Chris Christie told a crowd in Union Beach Tuesday, and it will be used to rebuild New Jersey and get residents back into their hurricane-ravaged homes. Advocates for expanding eligibility for Medicaid in New Jersey are attempting to make their case in financial terms, but it remains to be seen whether they have developed enough evidence to convince a skeptical Gov. Not just any bill, but the Democrats’ stated top priority of the session. The one that would legalize same sex marriage.
