Glen Ridge and Montclair police chased a van allegedly stolen by a Newark man belonging to a Verona business on April 5 throughout both townships before the vehicle crashed and stopped, a published report said Monday. Clinton Perry, 49, allegedly jumped in the truck, parked at Hurrell Field in Glen Ridge, and drove away, Lt. Fred Egnezzo of the Glen Ridge Police Department told NorthJersey.com. Car involved in short police pursuit following a shoplifting attempt.
Bloomfield police closed off the Bloomfield Ave. and Grove street intersection late this morning after a suspect fleeing police following being seen attempting to shoplift from Home Depot. Sgt. Anthony Servedio of the Bloomfield Police Department said an Officer working an extra duty job called out a shoplifter leaving the Home Depot. Driving out of the parking lot, the suspect vehicle struck but did not injure the officer. Servedio said that a few moments later, a patrol officer spotted the vehicle. When the suspect saw the patrol car, he fled and crashed into another vehicle. The suspect and an occupant from the second vehicle involved in the accident were taken to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. Servedio said …

Traffic was delayed for more than two hours on the border of Montclair and Glen Ridge on Friday.
Eight people were sent the hospital Friday afternoon as three cars and a New Jersey Transit bus collided in a pile up on Bloomfield Avenue. Around 1:25 p.m. in front of the Palace Car Wash on the border of Montclair and Glen Ridge, a Ford Taurus traveling in an eastbound lane on Bloomfield Avenue reportedly hit a Toyota traveling in the same direction, according to Montclair Police. The impact caused the Toyota to then crash into a Mini Cooper traveling in a westbound lane which then struck a New Jersey Transit bus also traveling westbound. There were about 25 people on the NJ Transit bus. The Ford Taurus came to rest over the embankment near the entrance of the Palace Car Wash. The driver of the Ford Taurus was found unconscious …

A NJ Transit train collided with a tractor-trailer in Little Falls Wednesday morning and injured 10 people, two of them seriously.

A NJ Transit passenger train slammed into a tractor-trailer in Little Falls, Wednesday morning, injuring several people, backing up traffic on Pompton Avenue and cancelling trains along the Montclair-Boonton line. PSE&G crews were originally supposed to disable power in Little Falls around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to work on damaged power lines, but were unable to do so until the damaged tractor-trailer was removed, PSE&G spokesperson Kristine Snodgrass told Patch at 4 p.m. Wednesday. A four-door Jaguar crashed into a tree in Yantacaw Brook at around 7 p.m. Thursday.
Montclair Police are releasing few details about a car crash Thursday evening that left a 17-year-old driver trapped for about two hours. A four-door Jaguar crashed into a tree in Yantacaw Brook on Yantacaw Brook Road around 7 p.m. on Thursday. There were two teenagers in the car: a 17-year-old driver and a 15-year-old passenger, according to Traffic Bureau Sgt. Stephanie Egnezzo. The passenger was able to be removed from the car immediately. The driver, however, was trapped between the car and a tree. More than 15 emergency vehicles lit up the street, and there were more than two dozen emergency personnel on the scene from Montclair and surrounding towns.
