Report: Politicians Hide Donor Names And It's Legal

The NJ.com report said most states allow campaigns to keep only those donors who give $100, $50 or less private, but Garden State politicians don’t have to report any information about people who contribute less than $300. The report said because of the state’s secretive laws, candidates were able to hide about $12 million out of the $100 million donated. The state’s rule allowing campaigns to keep these donors anonymous could undergo a re-evaluation after one of the state’s most …

Hey Kramit, there are many of us Bush followers around, and proud of it, we had it better than we do now with O'vomit and we paid $ 1.87 for gas when George left office. The price of gas has doubled under this idiot, and he refuses to do anything about it. If he wanted to do something about the gas prices he could, if he signed the Keystone pipeline bill, between that and the oil coming out of …   more ›

Montclairions Favor Obama When it Comes to Campaign Cash

Residents put their money where there vote was in the 2012 presidential election: for the Democrats.

Montclair voted overwhelmingly for the Democrats this presidential election, and the majority backed up their vote with a campaign contribution for the same team.  Montclair contributed a whopping $330,522 to President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. This was more than four times what Republican candidate Mitt Romney received -- $71,369.  The average contribution for Obama was about $158, compared to $811 for Romney.    The trend toward Democrats was the same in Upper Montclair.  Obama received $271,246 from 1,610 residents living north of Watchung Avenue -- an average of about $168 per contribution.  Romney garnered only %56,703 from 76 residents in Upper Montclair-- an average of about $736 per contribution.  The map, compiled by …
