New York Times, Post Journalists to Speak at Montclair State Wednesday

Montclair resident Harvey Araton of the New York Times and Phil Mushnick of the New York Post will give a free talk at the university.

Come to Montclair State University Wednesday for an insider's view about sports journalism and the challenges facing the industry.  Popular sportswriters Harvey Araton of The New York Times and Phil Mushnick of the New York Post will discuss sports journalism and the future of print starting at 7:30 p.m. at Montclair State University’s Yogi Berra Museum, located at 1 Normal Ave. Learn firsthand how the renowned speakers got started in the business, the ethical challenges they face in their work, what makes for excellent sports journalism and if the traditional sports section will survive our digital age. Addiction, Violence Against Women Forum This Thursday

This information discussion will feature guest speakers and a short film.

  Help yourself or someone you know by attending the forum on Addition and Violence Against Young Women on Thursday.  The forum will feature speakers from local organizations, including:   The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Montclair area and the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.  "The goal of the forum is to bring information to young women and men," wrote Elizabeth Santeramo in an email, chair the Women and Family Issues Committee of the League of Women Voters. "And what prompted me to organize this forum is the increased reports on the news of assaults on young women by young men which sometimes is related to addiction/alcoholism."
