Fourth Ward Meeting to Address Shootings in Canterbury Park

Montclair Councilwoman Renee Baskerville changes focus of community meeting to discuss recent murder-suicide in neighborhood park.

Montclair Fourth Ward Councilwoman Renee Baskerville has announced that the focus of a community meeting planned for Tuesday, May 21, has been changed in light of last week's murder-suicide in a neighborhood park involving a resident and his girlfriend. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Montclair Fire Headquarters on Pine Street. Fourth Ward resident Brandon Brown, 26, and his girlfriend Shanae Q. Howard, 24, of Orange, were discovered dead by police in Canterbury Park Thursday night after gunshots were reported in the park. The deaths were ruled a murder-suicide by a medical examiner, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said Friday. Baskerville said in a letter to residents of the Fourth Ward she …

Master Plan, Southend Business, Development at 4th Ward Meeting April 23

Councilor Renee Baskerville will hold the community meeting in Montclair Fire Department Headquarters.

A 4th Ward community meeting will be held Tuesday, April 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Montclair Fire Department Headquarters, at 1 Pine St.  The meeting will include discussion about revitalization efforts for the Southend Village Shopping Area, Southend Business Improvement District, Montclair's 30-year Master Plan, and changes and developments in the southend.  Councilor Renee Baskerville invites residents to bring their concerns and questions. Fourth Ward Residents Meet Tuesday

Top issues that will be discussed include Montclair's Master Plan, the Lackawanna Plaza area and the proposed Nishuane Well water facility project.

Bring your grievances, concerns and opinions, 4th-Ward residents, to your monthly community meeting on Tuesday.  Fourth-Ward Councilor Renee Baskerville will hold a community meeting for residents in her ward starting at 7 p.m. at the Montclair Fire Department Headquarters, located at 1 Pine St.   Also in attendance will be Township Planner Janice Talley and Township Manager Marc Dashield.   What's on the Agenda? What I find offensive is the blood gang members blissfully chilling in front of the 'NO LOITERING' sign and camera by the ghetto looking chinese store (which I also find offensive) next to the dry cleaners in the Southend. Please replace this dingy eye sore with a bakery or coffee shop. I find it offensive that I cannot get a cup of coffee on Orange Rd in the morning. There are several …   more ›
