The following letter to the editor was written by Livingston resident Mark Dunec. A few weeks ago, I wrote to express frustration with Congress’s failure to enact common sense gun control measures to prevent the senseless violence that plagues our nation. I particularly singled out Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen for once again failing to represent this District. Since that time, the Senate failed to pass a simple background check law and instead moved on to other business. Like other tragedies before it, Sandy Hook will pass from our collective memories and our government will have failed to act. The following letter to the editor was written by Mark Dunec, of Livingston. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11) represents municipalities in Essex, Morris, Passic and Sussex counties. A short time ago, I wrote to express my frustration with Washington’s failure to provide responsible leadership during difficult times. Specifically, I have taken note of one of my Congressman, Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11), who has a particularly unimpressive 20-year record of sitting on the sidelines on important issues. From debt reduction and gun control to healthcare and immigration reform, Frelinghuysen has failed to lead while a divided Congress argues off of talking points. Congressman Rodney P. Frelinghuysen (R-11) addressed students in Livingston on Wednesday.
Ten-term Congressman Rodney P. Frelinghuysen (R-11) addressed students at Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston on Wednesday, reiterating his support for Israel and defending Congressional spending. Frelinghuysen serves the newly-redistricted eleventh district, which includes 54 municipalities including communities in Morris, Sussex, Passaic, and Essex counties — including Montclair. Frelinghuysen told students that he spends weeks in Washington D.C., and weekends in New Jersey, traveling throughout his district. One of his goals, said Frelinghuysen, is "to put a human face on Congress." Thank you for addressing this issue. I too am curious and no response is..... A response. Many years from now we will look back at this point in history and ask, who could have possibly been against gay rights? Similar to slavery. Frelinghuysen, where do you stand?   more ›
