Montclair Special Education Parent Advisory Council Meets Wednesday

The night's topic will be development of self-regulation and will feature Montclair State University professor Corinne Catalano.

The Montclair Special Education Parent Advisory Council will meet tonight, April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Edgemont Elementary School, located at 25 Maple Ave.  The night's topic will be supporting the development of self-regulation. Montclair State University Professor Corinne Catalano will discuss how a child's self-regulation develops and the ways this can be supported. She will also talk about how to help children understand how they learn and teach them self-advocacy and decision-making skills for success with their own learning.  All are welcome to the meeting. Bring your questions and suggestions. Refreshments and child care will be provided by Montclair State University graduate education and Montclair High School Key Club students. …

Renaissance Teachers Present: Steps Toward Success in the Classroom

The district superintendent will also attend the meeting tonight hosted by Montclair Special Education Parent Advisory Council at the Renaissance School starting at 7 p.m.

  Teachers from the Renaissance School at Rand will present to parents and the district superintendent tonight their ideas about how to achieve success in the classroom. The teachers at Renaissance School will present "Steps Towards Successful Inclusion in the Classroom: Renaissance Teachers Share Their Perspectives – Part 2" from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Renaissance School, 176 N. Fullerton Ave.  Superintendent Penny MacCormack will also be in attendance. The meeting will be organized by the Montclair Special Education Parent Advisory Council. All are welcome to attend, and refreshments and child care will be provided.
