More than 100 responders participated in the drill Wednesday in West Orange with eight fire department and 16 EMS providers along with New Jersey and county services.
West Orange Fire Department along with seven other township fire departments and 16 EMS providers participated in a New Jersey National Guard decontamination drill in West Orange Wednesday. The drill tested the capabilities of the county's hazardous material response and treatment of patients at the NJ National Guard Armory, according to West Orange Fire Chief Peter Smeraldo. It required the EMS to treat and triage about 20 potential people contaminated by the hazardous material. "We were very pleased with the results," said Smeraldo. Patricia Krentcil tells InTouch magazine she'll portray ordeal after she was accused of allowing her five-year-old daughter into tanning booth.
A published report Wednesday says the Nutley “Tanning Mom,” who was accused last year of bringing her five-year-old daughter into a tanning booth, told InTouch magazine she’ll star in a new movie based on her ordeal. Patricia Krentcil said she was “going to portray everything that’s happened,” including the stress and “mental abuse” suffered by her family, the report said. Late last week, an Essex County grand jury decided not to indict Krentcil on child endangerment charges for the incident. At that time, Krentcil told NBCnewyork.com she planned on moving to London to pursue “several modeling jobs” before returning to her Nutley home.

Nutley mom's arrest and appearance leaves many shaking their heads.
What a crazy week it was for Patricia Krentcil. The 44-year-old Nutley mom became infamous nationwide for a scandal that started because she was accused of letting her five-year-old daughter go into a tanning booth with her. Police arrested Krentcil, who also had an oustanding warrant, after the little girl allegedly complained of being burned. Since then Krentcil has appeared on national television and in publications around the United States. And the public has started to question the issue of what appears to be excessive tanning and whether or not it's safe for children to be allowed at tanning salons.
