Film Screened at Montclair Film Festival Wins Oscar

'Inocente' takes home best documentary for a short subject at Academy Awards on Sunday.

  A film screened at the Montclair Film Festival garnered an award at the 85th Academy Awards on Sunday.  The film "Inocente" was awarded the Oscar for best documentary short film. The 40 minute film was directed by Sean Fine and Andrea Nix, and was shown at the inaugural Montclair Film Festival in 2012. The film was produced by Montclair-based company Shine Global "It is actually great to have a film from a local film maker in your first festival to win an Oscar," said Stu Zakim of the Montclair Film Festival. "It's incredible. Underdog Film Festival Features Oscar Nominated Shorts Sunday

The Montclair Film Festival partners with Underdog Film Festival to present Oscar Shorts — Celebrate the Underdog!

  Cinephiles and movie lovers of all ages can kickoff Oscar Sunday with an all day showing of the long shots in the 85th Academy Awards.  The Montclair Film Festival will partner with Underdog Film Festival to present Oscar Shorts — Celebrate the Underdog!, by showing nomincated shorts at Montclair State University on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  All categories will be show on Sunday, including animated, live action and documentary.
