Small Business Saturday Today in Montclair

Get a jump-start on your holiday shopping by staying local.

There is no better place to shop than Montclair's business district this holiday season. If you ask any business owner, he or she will affirm Montclair can compete with any big box store.  So stay local this weekend and take advantage of the sales and deals today, Saturday, during Small Business Saturday. Enroll your American Express card and get back $25 when you spend $25 or more at any qualifying small business location. Director of the Montclair Center Business Improvement District Luther Flurry said local shopkeepers are expecting a large turnout once again for Small Business Saturday.  "Montclair is in many ways the anti-mall," said Flurry. Black Friday Remains Slow on Bloomfield Ave

Shoppers and owners look forward to Small Business Saturday.

Gabriella Stiefbold of Verona was picking up some items at Learning Express Toys on Bloomfield Ave. By Friday afternoon she had been shopping for nearly 12 …

The stores also boast a number of toys that are Learning Express exclusives, like the ever-popular All …

Who Gets Your 'Small Business Saturday' Love?

Give a shout out to your favorite Montclair business

No doubt about it: There are a lot of big, big businesses out there. And, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Many of these large businesses provide us with some of our most needed services. Many of them employ our friends, our neighbors, our families–and, for that, we are grateful. Still, there is something about a Mom-and-Pop Shop, the local place, the place where everyone recognizes your face. You know more of the money you spend there has a better chance of staying in your community. Not only do these places employ your friends, your neighbors, your families, a lot of these businesses are owned by them. Whatever your reason, there is something special about small business. Thankfully, those in Montclair who support small business don't…
