Two teenagers and a 20-year-old from Montclair were unable to identify a group who attacked them Monday night on the street.
Montclair police found three township men stabbed shortly before midnight Monday on the corner of Elm Street and Elmwood Avenue, officials said. Police found the three men in front of the Montclair Fellowship Tabernacle around 11:30 p.m. All three — ages 18, 19 and 20 — were bleeding from stab wounds, according to police reports. The three men told police they were attacked by a group while walking on Fulton Street, but could not identify anyone in the group. The men added the attack was unprovoked, according to the report. Another victim in the attack — a 19-year-old from Newark — was found walking on nearby Fulton Street. The Newark man's jacket was slashed and torn, but he was uninjured, according to reports. Felicia Williams, 37, is charged with aggravated manslaughter for the death of Herbet Warrenton Spriggs, 46, of Montclair.
A Claremont Avenue resident has died from injuries sustained in a stabbing early Sunday morning at his home, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Felicia Williams, 37, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend Herbet Warrenton Spriggs, 46, at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the home located at 285 Claremont Ave. The two were reportedly arguing when Williams allegedly stabbed Spriggs with a knife, according to the prosecutor’s office. Spriggs drove himself to Mountainside Hospital, but later died at approximately 4:10 a.m. Sunday, according to authorities. Dawn Lockwood-Briant, 44, of Pennsville, was arrested last week by Montclair Police for stabbing two people.
A 44-year-old woman stabbed two people last week in a home on Normal Avenue, according to Montclair Police. Dawn Lockwood-Briant, of Pennsville, entered a home on Normal Avenue on Jan. 2 with a man and a woman, according to reports. The man told police that while Lockwood-Briant was alone in the kitchen with the other woman, he heard screaming. When the man entered the kitchen, he saw the woman lying on the floor and Lockwood-Briant standing over her while “swinging her arm in a stabbing motion over her,” according to police. The man was then slashed across the right hand by Lockwood-Briant when he tried to intervene, according to reports. After being stabbed, the male victim then ran to a neighboring home to call the police. …
