Montclair's Medical Marijuana Dispensary Limits Patients to North Jersey

As the sole dispensary in the state, the owners of Greenleaf Compassion Center in Montclair said they can't keep up with demand.

Burdened with supplying medical marijuana to patients throughout the state, the only dispensary in the state located in Montclair will limit new patients to those living in north New Jersey, NJ.com is reporting.  The owners of Greenleaf Compassion Center said this week that they are unable to grow enough marijuana for the number of state registered patients — more than 750, according to the article.  The other treatment centers have yet to open their doors as they wait for permits from the state.  Located at 395 Bloomfield Ave., Greenleaf Compassion center opened on Dec. 6, and has since seen approximately 120 patients, according to the NJ.com article.

Trending: Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opens in Montclair

Greenleaf Compassion Center, at 395 Bloomfield Ave., opened and met with more than 20 patients on Dec. 6.

Marijuana has arrived in Montclair.  Greenleaf Compassion Center, located at 395 Bloomfield Ave., opened on Dec. 6 and became the first medical marijuana dispensary in New Jersey.  “We are excited,” said Joseph Stevens, board member and one of the chief financial officers, about finally opening up the dispensary. “For the patients of New Jersey, they finally are able to procure their medication in a safe environment.”  The dispensary had scheduled about 20 patient appointments this morning who came from throughout the state, said Stevens.
