Now retired from my former profession of accounting and (since 1978) living in the wonderful city of Montclair, New Jersey. Presently I am a faculty member and Dean for Institutional Development of the Sai Ayurvedic College in Miami, Florida and a practitioner and teacher of ayurvedic medicine.  My avocations include cooking and food, travel, languages, and pets (especially dogs, two of which - though not living with me at present - own me: Jake, a Labrador/Great Pyrenees 2 year-old mix and Marlie, an 8-month old Pug puppy.I enjoy all types of literature with an emphasis on science fiction, and my favorite authors include (among others) Anthony, Asimov, Bujold, LeGuin, Niven, Russ, and Tiptree. Also, I'm a great admirer of Tom Robbins.  Other interests include the healing arts and traditional medicine (eastern and western herbalism, ayurveda, Reiki and Bach flower remedies); human rights advocacy and community organizing, LGBT issues, history, literature, folklore; spirituality; comparative religion, mysticism and esoterica.
