"Jungle of Illusions" CD Release Party

Kassetas-Spanos Group “Jungle
of Illusions” CD Release Party Live at Trumpets Jazz Club.

Yiannis Kassetas (saxophone) and George
Spanos (drums) first started performing as a free jazz/avant-garde duet in
their hometown in Athens, Greece. As a result of their diverse musical
backgrounds and complete devotion to their art, the Kassetas-Spanos Group has
generated excitement with jazz audiences on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

The group's first album release, "Jungle of
Illusions" is a fusion of Eastern textures and modal harmonies, free
improvisation, funk and avant-garde elements. While most of the music in the
album was composed and performed by Yiannis Kassetas (saxophone) and George
Spanos (drums), some tracks also feature guest artists on tabla, bass, guitar,
piano, and saxophone. This album was recently released in Europe by the Greek
label, Puzzlemusik, and was just released in the U.S. by "Blue
Truffle Music".  Although George has recently moved to New York to
perform with John Zorn and other New York jazz musicians, this CD Release Party
has been scheduled so as to coincide with Yiannis’s upcoming U.S. tour.
At this CD release event, Yiannis and George will have the honor of
performing with distinguished artists from the New York Jazz and Avant Garde
scene, including Miles Griffith, vocals; Oran Etkin, clarinet; Richard Padron,
guitar; Eduardo Bello, bass; Fung Chern Hwei, violin and Miki Hirose, trumpet.
“Jungle of Illusions” CD’s, MP3’s and audiophile-quality FLAC files can be
purchased from www.bluetrufflemusic.com.
