Gunman Wanted for Shooting at Two Montclair Teens
Shots miss 18-year-olds who were standing on an Elmwood Avenue sidewalk Wednesday afternoon.
Montclair Police are looking for a man they say fired a handgun at two teenagers on Elmwood Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
The gunman shot and missed the man and woman, both 18 and from Montclair, who were standing on the sidewalk at about 4:30 p.m., police said. One or both of the teens are believed to be the shooter's intended target, police said.
Witnesses said a black man wearing a white T-shirt wrapped around his head and a black shirt over his face appeared from behind a vehicle parked on the south side of Elmwood Avenue, Montclair Detective Bureau Commander Det./Lt. Angel Roman said.

The gunman, witnesses told police, walked over to 27 Elmwood Ave. and pointed his gun and fired at the two teens.
Neither were struck, Roman said. Three .380-caliber shell casings were found on the scene.

Witnesses' descriptions of the shooter were vague, saying he was of average height and weight wearing a white T-shirt, Roman said.
