Centro Verde Breaks Ground Tuesday

Bloomfield Avenue property part of the Montclair Center Gateway Development Plan.

Developers LCOR and The Pinnacle Companies will be celebrating the groundbreaking of a new mixed-use development in Montclair known as Centro Verde on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The ceremony is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the development site, 638 Bloomfield Ave.

Speakers will include Mayor Robert Jackson and Third Ward Councilor Sean M. Spiller, as well as LCOR Senior Vice President James Driscoll and Pinnacle Companies CEO Brian Stolar.

“This development represents a rare and unique opportunity for LCOR and The Pinnacle Companies to develop an extraordinary asset in Montclair and contribute to the economic development of this vibrant, downtown community,” said LCOR Senior Vice President James Driscoll in a release. “As owners, LCOR is committed to the long-term success of the city and being a dedicated member of the community,” he said.

The Bloomfield Avenue property is part of the Montclair Center Gateway Development Plan, and will include 259 residential units and 571 parking spaces, as well as 23,055 square feet of office space and 22,340 square feet of retail space.

The site represents a large portion of the 4.1-acre Montclair Center Gateway Redevelopment Planning Area. The township approved a redevelopment plan for the site in December 2011.
